In short
- The website sets no cookies, has no analytics and no ads.
- We only learn who you are if you email us. Then we use your email only to reply.
- The YouTube channel is run by YouTube, under Google's own privacy policy.
- Tech Story Publisher is a private tool used only on our own channel. Its details are in section 6.
1. Who we are
Tech Story is an educational YouTube channel (@TechStoryExplained) and this website, techstoryexplained.com. Both are run by Ahmed, the creator of Tech Story, who is responsible for the data described here. Contact: .
2. The website
What we collect
Nothing on purpose. There are no accounts, forms, cookies, analytics, ads or tracking scripts, and nothing is stored on your device.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and block attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. We do not use that data to identify you.
YouTube thumbnails and links
Video thumbnails load from YouTube's image servers, so your browser connects to Google when you see them. Videos are not embedded: links open YouTube, where the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy apply.
Fonts
Fonts are served from this site. No requests go to Google Fonts or other font services.
3. Emailing us
If you email us, we receive your address and your message. We use them only to reply, never for marketing, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
4. The YouTube channel
Watching, commenting or subscribing happens on YouTube. Google decides what data is collected there, under the Google Privacy Policy. We only see what YouTube shows every channel owner, such as public comments and anonymous statistics.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Just email us. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Sweden that is IMY.
6. Tech Story Publisher (YouTube API Services)
Tech Story Publisher is a private command-line tool used only by the Tech Story channel owner to publish videos to the Tech Story channel. It uses YouTube API Services. By using it, the user agrees to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. More about the tool: Tech Story Publisher.
What it accesses
- After the user signs in with Google and grants access: an OAuth access token and refresh token for the Tech Story channel.
- The channel's own videos, playlists, captions and thumbnails, only as far as needed to publish an episode.
- Responses from the YouTube Data API, such as the ID and processing status of a published video.
How it uses it
Only to upload episodes and set their title, description, tags, publish time, thumbnail, captions and playlist. Nothing else.
Where it is stored
- Tokens are stored only on the channel owner's computer. They are never committed to source control, shown in logs or shared.
- API responses are kept in a local log on that computer for at most 30 days, then deleted or refreshed.
- The tool has no servers. Nothing is sent anywhere except to Google's YouTube API.
Sharing
No user data or YouTube API data is sold or shared with anyone, inside or outside Tech Story. The tool has no analytics, ads or third-party content.
Revoking access and deletion
- Access can be revoked at any time at Google's permissions page.
- Stored tokens and API data are deleted within 7 days of a deletion request or revocation through the tool, and within 30 days of revocation through Google's page.
- Privacy questions or complaints about the tool: .
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
